Thabet El-Batal (Arabic: ثابت البطل) (born 16 september 1953 in Cairo, Egypt, and died on 12 February 2005, in Cairo, Egypt) was an Egyptian Goalkeeper for El Ahly and he was one of the greatest successive goalkeepers a long history in Africa, and his name "El-Batal" means in Arabic: The Hero.

Began the story of El-Batal with the ball in the club when he saw Hawamdeh (Abdo El-Bakal) one-month pack, the ball is in Egypt to join El Ahly 1972/1973 season, before he begins the first formal step with the first team doorknock fame after it succeeded in friendly match played in front of Ittihad and defend a penalty brilliantly to let El Ahly win the match 1-0.

El-Batal's goal took El Ahly guard, was formally beginning with the 1974/1975 season and succeeded in winning his championship year for the first time after successive victories and titles, which harvested both at the local level or in the African Clubs championships.

El-Batal spent a season with 17 domestic he decided to retire after the match Vs Aswan in Egypt Cup final season of 1990/1991 to be the best conclusion with the victory for El Ahly in Cup competition.

At the international level has a strong record with the star team after Egypt to join him in 1974 and spent 14 years with the team which achieved many of the victories and achievements perhaps the most notable win the African Nations Cup held in Egypt in 1986 also participated with the team in the Olympic Games.

After their path busy inside the green rectangle El-Batal began a new journey with El Ahly Director of the ball and succeeded by his office in achieving many of the championships, 5 of them in successive league championships and Egypt Cup once and twice the championship of the Arab Clubs Champions and Super Cup twice.

El-Batal died in February 2005 after a conflict with the disease.
