Jewish-American family in 1935 in Newark. Her father, Matthew Gelernter and her mother, Ada, owned a fish business inIrvington . She gained an Master of Arts in 1976 and aDoctor of Philosophy in 1980, both in Communications, at theCase Western Reserve University inCleveland, Ohio . Reisman has also been based atHaifa University in Israel.Reisman has guest lectured at numerous educational establishments, including Princeton, Georgetown,
