Route description

From the north, LA 456 begins at an intersection with Louisiana Highway 470 and starts heading south in Rapides Parish, LA. Then, it travels through LeCompte until it reaches Water Street. Thisis the current route of Louisiana Highway 112. In Meeker, LA, LA 456 intersects with U.S. Highway 167, then ends at an intersection with U.S. Highway 71.

History

Louisiana Highway 456 (LA 456) was once the main route of U.S. Highway 71. It ran from its current south intersection through Lecompte along Jeffersom Hwy. and Hardy St. It then followed north to Louisiana Highway 470.
