The Beast (truck)

The Beast is a 1977 Ford 350 Custom rack body truck. It belongs to Buck's Rock Performing and Creative Arts Camp and is used by the theatre department to transport scenery and equipment between the various venues on camp. Whereas other vehicles on camp are strictly utilitarian, the Beast enjoys a status more like a pet; generations of staff and campers alike who have worked in the theatre department treat the Beast as a mascot, guard dog, friend, confidant, and co-worker. In recent years, members of the lighting and sound design departments have taken to decorating and accessorizing the Beast in order to celebrate its contributions to camp.
