Steve Brooks (statistician)

Steve Brooks is professor of statistics at the Statistical Laboratory of the University of Cambridge. [cite web|url=http://www.cei.group.cam.ac.uk/directory/people/record.html?id=131|title=Cambridge Environmental Initiative: Steve Brooks]

He received a degree in mathematics from Bristol University in 1991, and a Master's degree in statistics from the University of Kent. He received his Ph.D. at Cambridge; his supervisor was Gareth Roberts. He then returned to Bristol as a lecturer in the Statistics Group and, following an appointment as Senior Lecturer at the University of Surrey, returned to Cambridge in 2000.

He is a specialist in Markov chain Monte Carlo methods.

In addition to his academic posts, he is a director of ATASS, a statistical research consultancy specialising in sports modelling.
