Kurboor is a Village in Chintamani Taluk in Chikballapur district in the state of Karnataka, India.

Geography

Kurboor is located at coord|13.1854|N|78.440|E|. [ [http://www.fallingrain.com/world/IN/19/Chintamani.html Falling Rain Genomics, Inc - Chintamani] ] It has an average elevation of 865 metres (2837 feet).This is a Village and Mandal Panchayat and part of Chinthamani Taluk in Chikkaballapura district. It became a part of chikkaballapur district in 2007 when the kolar district was split.Kurboor is located in Chintamani- Kolar Road off 10KM distance from Chintamani. Kurboor is surrounded by hills.The economy is mostly Agri based.Kurboor is famous for Tomato ,Mangoes, Silk, and Milk.Kolar an adjoining town 22 kilometers from Kurboor is very famous for Mango production. Kurboor Tomato market is one of the biggest in karnataka. It is also famous for silk, milkand groundnuts.

The one and only Sericulture College of Karnataka is Located in Kurboor Farm.

The people here speak Kannada and Telugu.Kannada remains the official and administrative Language.

Another tourist attraction of near to Kurboor is a place called Kaiwara, which is located about 7 kilometers from Kurboor. Kaiwara is famous for it's temples and a national park. It is believed that this was the place called Ekachakradhipura, which was the place where the pandavas spent a year during their agnaathavaasa.
