It became a part of chikkaballapur district in 2007 when the kolar district was split.Kurboor is located in Chintamani- Kolar Road off 10KM distance from Chintamani. Kurboor is surrounded by hills.The economy is mostly Agri based.Kurboor is famous for Tomato ,Mangoes, Silk, and Milk.Kolar an adjoining town 22 kilometers from Kurboor is very famous for Mango production.
