Mike Gallay (born September 24, 1975) is one of three co-founders of Gallay/Hartt Productions (http://www.gallayhartt.com), a Toronto-based documentary and comedy production company that creates clever, social issue-driven films, television series, short works and mobile content for a global audience. The other two co-founders are Heather Hartt (former host of E! and TV Guide) and Peter Sussman (executive producer of CSI and Bowling for Columbine, and former CEO of Alliance Atlantis).
Gallay was also a producer for the Toronto Raptors and Toronto Maple Leafs for three years prior to the formation of GH. Previous to that, he had worked as a screenwriter and artist manager in Los Angeles, California. There he built a successful career writing television projects for major companies EMI, Priority Records and Alliance Atlantis. At the same time he formed an artist management company, where he managed and discovered Bonnie McKee (Warner), as well as artists at (Universal) and (Dreamworks).
Mike is the son of Henry Gallay and Barbara Gallay.
Of note, in the mid-2000s, Gallay wrote sports columns, many for the Toronto Raptors and Toronto Maple Leafs. One of his basketball columns is the first citation on the Wikipedia entry for Chris Bosh, current Toronto Raptors All-Star. As of June 2009, Gallay is producing several documentary features, among them "Tagged" (2009)[1] with the National Film Board of Canada and "Info Nation" (2010).[2]
