N. Ponnappa is an Indian cartoonist, working in Bangalore. His daily Offside cartoon is a regular feature of the local Times of India. Also his cartoons have been featured in Midday in Mumbai over the past 17 years.[1] He is the grandson of Nadikerianda Chinnappa, the compiler of the Pattole Palome(see:Kodava).
After an eleven year stint from 1970 to 1981 in architecture at Chennai, Delhi, the US and Africa, he turned into a cartoonist.[2] A self-taught cartoonist, he began by doing cartoons for his college magazine at IIT, Chicago.[2] He then decided to go freelance and his drawing skills from architecture helped him.
