The Nashville Sounds' by|2003 season was the franchise's twenty-sixth year of play. The team finished the regular season with a record of 81 wins and 62 losses. They finished first place in their division, clinching the Eastern Division title. In post-season play, the team had three wins and four losses; they won the American Conference title, but were defeated in the league championship series.

Regular season

On April 7, right-hander John Wasdin pitched the first perfect game in Nashville Sounds history in his first start of the season against the Albuquerque Isotopes. The team clinched the American Eastern Division title, advanced them to the post-season for the first time as a member of the PCL.
