Early life and education
Robert Clinton Simmons was born

Simmons began his staffing career at Procare USA, LLC. based in Farmington, CT in 1999 where he quickly became the top recruiter in the company. After 3 years of industry recognition, Simmons was headhunted by a CA based competitor Access Nurses and offered a position by their CEO Alan Brynan to run their sales floor. Although Simmons respectfully declined and flew back to CT the experience piqued his interest. He came across ATC Healthcare Staffing Services, Inc. a public company trading on the AMEX based in Long Island, New York and specializing in Per-Diem Staffing. ATC offers a Franchise program which Simmons inquired about for CT only to find out they sold the CT territory to Dominick DiCorcia, President of ALL Care Nursing Services, a Division of ATC Healthcare from 1996-2004. ATC asked Simmons to send over his resume. Immediately after doing so, Simmons received a call from ATC to arrange a meeting with Steve and David Savitskly, the CEO and President of ATC. Simmons agrees to meet and makes the trip to NY and learns that ATC has acquired a Travel Nurse Staffing company based out of Atlanta, GA called Nursing Management Services to be ATC's platform into the Healthcare Travel Staffing market. After several Meetings, Simmons resigns from Procare USA in 2002 and begins his transition to Director of ATC's Travel division which he re-brands as ATC Travelers. At 22 years old Simmons grows ATC Travelers from a 3 Million dollar business to 15 Million and quickly became the 2nd largest office within the ATC Network, DiCorica's All Care division being number 1. In 2004 ATC and DiCorica sell All Care to Kevin Clark and his company, a competitor, Onward Healthcare for 20 Million. DiCorcia walked away from the industry until September 2005 when he called Simmons to meet about starting their own business. DiCoricia and Simmons met and discussed the possibilities over a 2 month period until DiCorcia backed out due to strong non-compete and non-solicitation agreements he signed with both ATC and Onward Healthcare. Simmons was disappointed but excited about the idea of owning his own business. At 25 years old in November 2005, Simmons founded Strategic Nurse Staffing, Inc. (SNS). SNS opened for business March 1st 2006 and is a rising leader in the travel healthcare staffing industry. Today, 2008, SNS is larger than both ATC Travelers and Procare USA.
Simmons has a passion for live music and music in general. He is a Grateful Dead fan and will catch 30 to 40 Bob Weir shows each year. Bob Weir is a founding member of the Grateful Dead. In 2007 Simmons discovered a local Long Island Indie Rock Band called Salute The Dawn and offered to help market and promote them. After several meetings Simmons decided to take a business approach by turning the band into a company and using the internet to market and promote their music and merch. Today the band is in pre-production of their 1st major ep and has been sponsored by RedBull and finalizing deals with Direct TV and MTV. The band is experiencing a rapid growing number of itunes downloads each month. Simmons says that "this band venture is a fun side project, a hobby for me and I believe I can get these guys signed with Live Nation or another big player in the music industry".
