Habbo Hotel (to present:
Habbo ), is a social networking website owned and operated by Sulake Corporation with local communities in 31 countries and 13 languages.History
The Chinese Hotel was planned to launch in spring 2006 but due to administrative issues it was launched on 26/07/06. It started with a closed beta period. The two local hotels,
Beijing andShanghai (both using the .cn domain), were used during the beta stages, however, after the beta stages the Shanghainese one was removed. On 14/08/07 it closed indefinitely, that being the first time a Habbo community was closed. It was allegedly closed due to the competent Chinese market and the high operational costs of this hotel, however some Sulake employees have argued that the closure was because of the unpopularity of Shockwave in China. Their users were redirected to other Habbo communities, mainly notably
Singapore .Organisation
Habbo China, as other Habbo communities, had a ranked organisation, where a team of staff perform different tasks for internal and external issues.
