William Gareth Jacob "Jake" Busey, Jr. (born June 15, 1971) is an American actor and film producer. He is sometimes credited as Jacob or William Busey.

Biography

Personal life

Busey was born in Los Angeles, California, but raised in Malibu, California, the son of Judy Lynn (née Helkenberg), a photographer and actor Gary Busey. He began considering his career choices at the age of five when he took up the two hobbies that grew into professions: acting and playing the drums. Busey resides in Los Angeles, where he writes and plays bass guitar for a band. He is also a licensed airplane pilot and spends several days a month flying.

Career

His motion picture debut was in the film "Straight Time" with his father Gary and Dustin Hoffman. Busey has since played in numerous standout performances, from the murderous religious fanatic opposite Jodie Foster in "Contact" to the smart-mouthed soldier in "Starship Troopers". Additionally, he has had major roles in "Tomcats" opposite Jerry O'Connell and Shannon Elizabeth and in James Mangold's thriller "Identity" and with C. Thomas Howell in the "The Hitcher II".

He has also had minor parts in films like "Christmas with the Kranks", "I'll Do Anything", "The Frighteners", "Enemy of the State", and "Twister". In 2008, he is set to play opposite to Chris Klein and Fred Durst in the film "Play Dead".
