History
The club was founded in 5.5.1925.
Today the most popular departments are pesäpallo, floorball and volleyball. Other departments are cross-country skiing, ski jumping, gymnastics and wrestling. Before wrestling were the most popular department with many olympic winners.
Pesäpallo
Today pesäpallo are the most popular department bacause mens team play on highest level on finnish pesäpallo, in Superpesis. Season 2012 will be 26. for Jymy on highest level. Best position is second on 2005. Jymy has also two bronze medals for seasons 1956 and 2008. Jymy has won pesäpallos cup competition (Suomen cup) on 1978.
Floorball
Jymy has play to season on mens highest level: 2000–2001 and 2002–2003. Ranks were 7 and 5. After second season Jymy had to stop on highest level because Jymy had too much dept and not money enough.
Volleyball
Nurmon Jymy got up to mens 1. division after season 2003. The team played a successful season in 2. division and won the division outstanding. Team headcoach was Matti Försti.
First season in 1. division was good to Jymy. The team saved their division place easily. Second season in division team was near rise to Finland volleyball league, but bad end of season ruined their chances. Season 2005-2006 team play themselves to Finland volleyball league tryout. Place to volleyball league didn't opened. Season 2006-2007 team play again themselver to tryout to volleyball league, but again was they face disappointed. Season 2007-2008 team was in 1. division five place. Season 2008-2009 team is harder than ever. Jymy made contact with four top-players and expectation is on sky.
