The EU Institute in Japan (EUIJ, EU インスティチュート) is an organization of four universities in
Tokyo (Hitotsubashi University ,International Christian University , theTokyo University of Foreign Studies , andTsuda College and three inKansai (Kobe University ,Kwansei Gakuin University , andOsaka University ) that encourages the study of theEuropean Union and related matters. It was started in 2004 in Tokyo and its expansion to Kansai the following year was welcomed in a joint press statement made at the 14th Japan-EU Summit.
