In early 2006, Salazar began missing some of the band's live shows.
A Third Eye Blind fan site, [http://www.3eb.co.uk 3eb.co.uk - The Village Church Yard] , encouraged fans of Salazar and the band to join in [http://www.3eb.co.uk/showthread.php?t=8953 Letters to Arion - 3eb.co.uk Discussion Forums] ] a letter writing campaign addressed to Salazar. The letters were sent to him in August 2006.
No official statement has been released by the band, but Salazar has been replaced on the road by several bassists including Leo Kremer, and in the studio by the Mars Volta's Juan Alderete.
Regardless of this fact, Arion will appear on the band's upcoming 4th album Ursa Major on several tracks that were recorded prior to his departure.
