Battle of the Bone

Battle of the Bone is an independent film directed by George Clarke. The film was produced with an unusually low budget of less than ₤10,000, and was first screened in Belfast on July 17 2008 at Storm Cinema in the Odyssey complex. Battle of the Bone is a kung-fu zombie extravaganza set in Belfast on the Twelfth of July. As rival mobs battle it out on the streets of Belfast, 3 friends are caught in the middle and have to contend not only with the rioters but a horde of marauding zombies. The film is a prime example of local wit and resilience in the face of adversity, and more than its fair share of blood and guts (and swearing).

DVD release

The DVD is released on Thursday 23rd October from several local retailers, including HMV and The Basement.

As a special treat for fans, writer/director George Clarke will join the film's stars Alan Crawford and Shane Todd (and some zombies!) in touring the Basement stores to sign DVDs and pose for photographs. They will spend an hour in each store, starting in Larne at 12 noon,then visiting Carrickfergus at 1.30pm and finally Belfast at 3pm. The entourage will then descend on Belfast's HMV store at 7pm to launch the DVD there.

Worldwide interest

'Yellow Fever' is spreading worldwide, with the movie showing in October 2008 at a prestigiousfestival in Florida, adjudicated by the legendary George A. Romero, and has also attracted interestfrom Hong Kong and Canada.
