"Fountain Society" is a thriller about cloning by Wes Craven.

Plot summary

Set in Switzerland and America, The Fountain Society features a sinister plot to confer immortality on a select, elite group of government scientists. Directed by horror master Wes Craven, who has helmed over thirty movies, the science fiction thriller is based on Craven's well received debut novel which was released by Simon & Schuster in 1999. The film centers on Dr. Peter Jance, a brilliant weapons scientist dying of cancer, who unknowingly becomes involved in a government cloning project. At 76 years of age, his failing health is preventing him from completing work on a superweapon that he invented. His beautiful wife Beatrice has helped Dr. Frederick Wolfe, a dark genius, discover the secrets of immortality. Two healthy, young lovers, Elizabeth and Hans, become the unsuspecting targets of Wolfe's sinister efforts. Production was tentatively scheduled to start in the spring of 2001. but has been delayed indefinitely.
