North-South Link Proposal

The State Government has a 20 metre reservation on the east side of Punt Road between the Yarra River and St. Kilda Junction.

The proposal would be to link the Metropolitan Ring Road at the junction with the Hume Freeway (Craigieburn Bypass) to the Nepean Highway south of Glenhuntly Road in Elsternwick, via Merri Creek and the Hoddle Highway. Assuming the entire length of this link would be freeway standard. Another possibility would be to extend this link further down Nepean Highway to South Road, Moorabbin and from South Road to the proposed Dingley Freeway.

A proposal to complete an orbital freeway by connecting the Greensborough Highway to EastLink, via the proposed Healesville Freeway corridor reservation. Assuming the Greensborough Highway connecting to the Metropolitan Ring Road be upgraded to freeway standard.
