Christy is a given name meaning graceful, beautiful, princess. The name Christie originated from Italy in 1222. Ireland found the name in 1345, and it took on other connotations, such as angel and lovely.[citation needed] It is also short for the Greek names Christos meaning "anointed one" and Christiana meaning "follower of Christ".
