Steinkjer FK is a Norwegian football club from the town of Steinkjer. It was founded in 1910. In the 1961/62 season, Steinkjer finished second in the Norwegian league, only beaten by SK Brann.

Today the team plays in group 2 of the second division in Norway 2008. (third level). This season (2008), Steinkjer must play against Byåsen Toppfotball, Groruddalen, KIL/Hemne, Kjelsås, Korsvoll IL, Kristiansund BK, Levanger F.K., FC Lyn Oslo 2, Ranheim Fotball, Skarbøvik, Skeid, Strindheim Fotball and Vålerenga I.F. Fotball 2.

Home ground

Guldbergaunet stadion.Record attendance through all times is 13.997 against Lyn in the Norwegian cup semi final 1970. This is an Artificial pitch, which was ready for play in May 2003.

Bill Foulkes (ex-Manchester United) was succeeded as manager of Steinkjer FC by his United team-mate Tony Dunne from 1982-1983. Tony Dunne was an ex-manager of Bolton Wanderers, and had made numerous appearances for the Republic of Ireland international soccer team, captaining the side on four occasions.
