Hazel Clark-Riley (born Hazel Clark on
October 3 ,1977 inLivingston, New Jersey ) is an American middle-distance runner specializing in the800 metres distance. Clark made the U.S. Olympic team in 2000, 2004 and 2008.Hazel Clark is the daughter of
Joe Louis Clark , who inspired the film "Lean on Me", and the sister-in-law of fellow OlympianJearl Miles-Clark . Clark attended Columbia High School and theUniversity of Florida .She finished seventh at the 2000 Olympic Games. At the 2001 World Championships she did not progress past the first round. In 2001 she was caught for using
pseudoephedrine . She then had two good seasons with an eighth place at the 2005 World Championships, seventh places at the 2005 and 2006 World Athletics Final and a sixth place at the 2006 World Cup.
In 2008, she won the U.S. Olympic Trials 800 m Final held in
Eugene, Oregon and competed at the2008 Summer Olympics .
