PacketVideo Corporation or PV is a global supplier of advanced wireless multimedia products and technologies to mobile device and consumer electronics manufacturers, and wireless service providers.

PV's products include embedded software for multimedia devices. PV's software products form the foundation for audience-interactive media experiences. PV's software gives application to have greater access and control over their media.

History

PV was founded in San Diego, California on August 10, 1998 by James Carol, Jon Jennett, James C. Brailean,Cheuk Chan and Mark R Banham. In 2001 PacketVideo had to sell its infrastructure division to Alcatel.

PV's customers include the world's leading mobile operators, such as Verizon Wireless, NTT DoCoMo and Orange, all top ten handset manufacturers, and numerous consumer electronics companies and media-savvy consumers worldwide.
