Jeff Beatty

A New Jersey native, Jeff Beatty (born April 12, 1953), is a self proclaimed Anti-Terrorism and Security Expert and founder of TotalSecurity.US. Beatty is running for US Senate in the state of Massachusetts.

Early Life & Education

Jeff Beatty was born in Passaic, New Jersey and was adopted at birth by Christine and Ray Beatty.

Jeff attended Memorial High School in West New York, NJ graduating in 1970.

Beatty enrolled at Rutgers University in 1970 and majored in Sociology. He also enrolled in Rutger's in Reserve Officers Training Corps. Beatty graduated Rutgers in 1974.

Military Service

Beatty then joined the United States Army. From 1981 to 1983 Beatty claims to have served with Delta Force as an Assault Troop Commander and Operations Officer. Beatty claims to have led his unit on several deployments and was commended for saving lives in the rescue of his comrades after their helicopter was shot down during the U.S. assualt on Grenada. As detailed on Wolf Blitzer's CNN program, Wolf Blitzer Reports, Beatty's helicopter was shot down flying into Grenada and Beatty did not actually take part in the rescuing of the American students on Grenada. Beatty was awarded the purple heart for his injuries.

Federal Bureau of Investigation

Beatty claims on his campaign website that after his military service he was recruited by the FBI to serve as a Special Agent and adviser to the Hostage Rescue Team from 1983 to 1985. Beatty claims on his online biography that his task was security for the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. Beatty claims he was charged with planning a rescue attempt should terrorists kidnap any of the athletes as was the case in the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, Germany.

Central Intelligence Agency

Beatty claims on his campaign website, after the FBI he then served at the Central Intelligence Agency's Counter Terrorism Center. As a CIA Operations Officer from 1985 to 1992, in his online biography, Jeff claims to have served at several locations in Europe and in the Middle East.

TotalSecurity.US

In 1992, Beatty founded Total Security Services International, Inc., doing business as TotalSecurity.US. The business does homeland security consulting. TotalSecurity.US has conducts vulnerability and threat assessments, security planning, anti-terrorism planning and training, transportation security, and sells infrastructure security products. Beatty claims TotalSecurity.US has worked on international meetings and special events including the Rose Bowl and Rose Parade, the Super Bowl, and four Olympic Games.

TotalSecurity.US designed the Highway Watch® Program for the American Trucking Associations. Much of TotalSecurity.US's work was focused on this program as trainers. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has halted funding for the program and has elected to fund another trucking security program. The training program and the call center have been suspended indefinately and dropped by the American Trucking Associations. The American Trucking Associations is currently researching new trucking security programs not linked to TotalSecurity.US.

Film

Beatty is credited on IMDb serving as a "Military Advisor" and playing the role of "Undercover FBI Agent" on the 1998 film "The Siege" starring Denzel Washington, Annette Benning and Bruce Willis.

Polling

United States Senate Election, Massachusetts 2008

In August, Kerry had a 56% to 29% lead over his opponent. The Democrat, who is seeking his fifth term in the Senate, has held dominating leads over Beatty since tracking of the race began back in May.

Rasmussen Markets data shows that Kerry is given a 95.0% chance of winning re-election in November. These figures are updated on a 24/7 basis by market participants.

Kerry leads 56% to 37% among unaffiliated voters this month. He has a 60% to 35% edge among men and a 69% to 26% lead among women in Massachusetts.

Senator Kerry is viewed favorably by 61% of voters and unfavorably by 34%. Beatty is still much less known to voters. His ratings are 36% favorable, 33% unfavorable, and 32% still have no opinion of him.

Personal

Beatty is divorced and lives in Harwich, Massachusetts with his Jack Russel Terrier, Buddy. In the past 15 years Beatty has lived primarily in Marietta/Atlanta, Georgia and Haymarket, Virginia. In 2006 Beatty sold his Haymarket, VA home and moved into his parents vacation home in Harwich, MA.
