- Indiranagar
The Eastern Suburb of Indiranagar is relatively new in comparison with other parts of
Bangalore , located about 4 Km East of M G Road. This medium sizedsuburb is enclosed by theOld Madras Road in the North, Airport Road in the South, Ulsoor in the West andJeevanbheemanagar in the East. The bustling commercial area of Indiranagar is around CMH Road (Chinmaya Mission Hospital Road), which accommodates almost everything fromsupermarket s, to appliance showrooms andrestaurant s. Another major road that connects the Airport Road and Old Madras road is the busy100 Feet Road , which forms an important link to theIntermediate Ring Road . A lot of life style showrooms and cafes have come up on this road of late. The small, but affluent "Defence Colony" with its largebungalow s, and neat tree-lined lanes is located along this stretch. Indiranagar is now slowly transforming into an important commercial hub, with a lot of small and medium sized companies setting shop here. Quite a few of the old houses have given way toapartment buildings and shops, particularly on the eastern portion of CMH Road between 80 and 100 feet roads. The Metro Rail would be passing through the busy CMH Road. The work on the Metro Rail started in July 2008 and the width of road currently available for use is very limited and not recommended for vehicular traffic.
