Lalit Maken

Lalit Maken was a young member of parliament and a political leader from Indian National Congress.He was a labour union leader.

In 1984, He won Loksabha election from South Delhi constituency and before that he was a metropolitan Councillor.Lalit Maken and his wife Gitanjali,the daughter of former president Shankar Dayal Sharma,were gunned down by Khalistani extremists outside their Kirti Nagar residence in West Delhi in 1985 for allegedly inciting and participating in anti sikh pogorms in Nov 1984.

Minister of State Of Urban Development, Ajay Maken is his nephew.His daughter Avantika Maken is married to Ashok Tanwar, President of Indian Youth Congress.
