- Old Markham By-Pass
Old Markham By-Pass is a short road created in the 1980s in east end of
Markham, Ontario to divert traffic offMarkham Road andNinth Line south ofMajor Mackenzie Drive . Portions of the road was used later to create the Donald Cousens Parkway, which previous was named the Markham By-pass. The remaining portions of the old bypass now begins just north of Major Mackenzie and ends atHighway 7 (Ontario) . The road maybe renamed when the entire road becomes a residential roadway.The current road cuts through new residential development of
Cornell, Ontario to the north, but the south end traverse small pockets of farmland still remaining in Markham.Reference
