Old Markham By-Pass

Old Markham By-Pass is a short road created in the 1980s in east end of Markham, Ontario to divert traffic off Markham Road and Ninth Line south of Major Mackenzie Drive. Portions of the road was used later to create the Donald Cousens Parkway, which previous was named the Markham By-pass. The remaining portions of the old bypass now begins just north of Major Mackenzie and ends at Highway 7 (Ontario). The road maybe renamed when the entire road becomes a residential roadway.

The current road cuts through new residential development of Cornell, Ontario to the north, but the south end traverse small pockets of farmland still remaining in Markham.
