Internet Central is an Internet Service Provider (ISP) based in Keele in Staffordshire, England.

History

Founded originally in the town of Nantwich in 1995 by Managing Director Mark Simcoe, Internet Central was one of the first Internet Service Providers in the UK [cite web|url=http://www.internet-central.net/aboutus/|title=About Internet Central|accessdate = 2008-08-15] . Due to its first domain name and Nominet domain tag, the company is often simply called NetCentral.

Internet Central began by providing dial-up to local businesses in the area. The business was acquired by [http://www.goodwin.co.uk Goodwin International] in 1997 and later in 2000 moved to the Innovation Centre as a part of a new development for a science park by Keele University. Internet Central also operates a microwave based broadband system in North Staffordshire and South Cheshire known as IC-air.

Since Internet Central was one of the first providers in the UK, it has a very low autonomous system number of 6717.
