Springwell Community School is a secondary school in Chesterfield, England which is nicknamed by the students as "Springy". It is a mixed comprehensive of 947 students aged between 11 and 16yrs. Around 180 pupils from Inkersal, Staveley, Brimington, Hollingwood, Barrow Hill, and other primary schools in the Staveley-Brimington area enrol at the school every year. It was formed in 1991 by the amalgamation of two secondary schools following a reorganisation of education in Chesterfield.

Building and Structure

The school is currently housed in a 1960’s building set in its own playing fields, with specialist accommodation to meet the current curriculum provision. The two new buildings, performing arts and sports block, are the start of the new school which is planned to be complete by 2010.

Arts College Status

Springwell achieved Specialist Status as an Arts College in September 2005.
