East African Wildlife Society

East African Wildlife Society (EAWLS) is a membership-based non governmental conservation organization. It was founded in 1961 as the Kenya Wild Life Society. According to the society its work consists of:

* influencing policy reform through advocacy and publicity
* supporting national park infrastructure, antipoaching measures and wildlife sanctuaries
* providing conservation education and research
* involving community in conservation initiatives

East African Wildlife Society publishes two magazines, which are "Swara" and "African Journal of Ecology".
