Viva Saturn was a rock group from Los Angeles, California formed by former members of Rain Parade.

History

When Rain Parade abandoned attempts to finish their final album, Steven Roback, John Thoman and Mark Marcum formed a new band, Viva Saturn, and relocated to San Francisco.Strong, Martin C. Marcum left, to be replaced by Rain Parade co-founder Matt Piucci, and over the next few years the band used various musicians, recruiting Rodd Inden (bass) and Carlo Nuccio (drums) by the time of their next release. The band re-emerged in 1994 with the album "Soundmind", featuring guest appearances from Barbara Manning and Chris Cacavas, which was followed in 1985 with "Brightside".Robbins, Ira & Yeske, Katherine " [http://www.trouserpress.com/entry.php?a=viva_saturn Viva Saturn] ", Trouser Press] The band recorded a final album, "Ships of Heaven" in 1988, but this was not released.

After the band split up, Steven Roback embarked on a solo career. Nuccio joined Continental Drifter.
