Plot

Three people are stranded in the desert after Matt (Andrew Lauer) and Eddie (Peter Berg) total Tuesday's (Claudia Christian) automobile. Tuesday is a drop dead gorgeous girl; however, much to the guys’ dismay, she is revealed as a lesbian, albeit sensitive and fun-loving. She is a woman with ambition and Matt and Eddie - two jokers - are far from impressionable in her eyes. Exhibiting an immediate sexual interest in the beautiful Tuesday, the guys are certain they can change her. [2][3][4]

Filming

Filming for Never on Tuesday took place in Borrego Springs, California, an astronomy hot spot and an ideal place for shooting a road movie set in a stark and desolate location. The cameo actors were flown out to Borrego Springs on their individual filming days including Charlie Sheen - who had just finished filming Wall Street (1987 film) - and Cary Elwes of The Princess Bride (film). The film's crew members included producer Cassian Elwes (brother of Cary) and make up artist Sheryl Berkoff, who would eventually marry Rob Lowe. With a limited budget the cast and crew shot on film; they used 'short ends' - sections of film left over in the canister - cheap to buy but with limited use. Christian says: 'we were constantly trying to shove a 4 minute scene into a 2 minutes film stock!'[5]

Adam Rifkin

Adam Rifkin has written and directed many projects including The Dark Backward, The Chase (1994 film), and Detroit Rock City (film). Early on in his career Rifkin often worked with the same people including many faces of the then up-and-coming Brat Pack, such as Sherilyn Fenn and Rob Lowe.[6][7] Never on Tuesday is Rifkin's Directorial debut, an independent Twentysomething (film) with a small cast that indeed features cameos from many of Rifkin's mainstays such as Cary Elwes, Judd Nelson, and Charlie Sheen. Executive Producer, Cassian Elwes, also produced The Chase (1994 film) and The Dark Backward aka The Man with Three Arms.[8][9]
