Brendan F. Boyle is an American politician from the Commonwealth (State) of
Pennsylvania .He is the Democratic Party nominee for the
Pennsylvania House of Representatives from District 170, which covers parts of NortheastPhiladelphia and Montgomery County.Boyle ran for the seat in 2006 against popular incumbent George Kenney, a Republican. Boyle lost by only 1,501 votes in what was one of the closest legislative races in the state. Boyle has championed the creation of a statewide, merit-based scholarship program called the REACH Scholarship. State Rep.
Tony Payton helped write the "REACH Scholarship", which would grant a full scholarship to any student with at least a 3.0 GPA and 90% school attendance. The scholarship is based on the current HOPE Scholarship which was founded in Georgia.
