Maltese First Division 2000-01

The Maltese First Division 2000-01 (known as Rothmans First Division 2000-01 for sponsorship reasons) started on 9 September 2000 and finished on 29 April 2001.Gozo and Zurrieq were the relegated teams from the Maltese Premier League 1999-00.Marsaxlokk and Qormi were the promoted teams from the Maltese Second Division.Marsa were the champions while Lija were the runner-up.They both were promoted to Maltese Premier League.Tarxien and Zurrieq were relegated to Maltese Second Division .The Maltese First Division 2000-01 was made up of these teams:

* Lija
* Marsa
* Marsaxlokk
* Mosta
* Qormi
* St.Andrews
* St. Patrick
* Tarxien
* Zurrieq
