Mitchell Hooks (April 2, 1923) is an American artist and illustrator renowned for his artwork for paperback books and magazines (The Saturday Evening Post, McCall's, Cosmopolitan, Redbook).[1]
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Hooks painted paperback covers for Avon, Bantam, Dell Books, Fawcett Publications and others.[2] He illustrated romance novels,[3] science fiction and crime fiction, such as the Ross MacDonald's Lew Archer, Peter Corris's Cliff Hardy and B.B. Johnston's Superspade series.[4]
Hooks illustrated How to Respect and Display Our Flag for the U.S. Marine Corps. He also designed the original film posters, including Dr. No and The Face of Fu Manchu.

In 1999, he was inducted into the Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame.[5]
