Playing career

Adam enjoyed a very successful junior career playing four seasons for the Brampton Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League. He tied four Battalion playoff records, including most games played (32) and most power-play goals (4) in a career. His 97 career Battalion goals rank second all-time to the 111 scored by current Columbus Blue Jacket, Raffi Torres. Playing for the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League in the 2007-08 season, Adam was consistently relied upon to produce in all departments. He did not disappoint. Averaging just under a point a game, Adam was a force to be reckoned with.

Adams strength with the puck, intelligence and leadership, made for an easy free agent pick up by the Pittsburgh brass.

Personal life

Adam comes from an athletic and well educated family. Older brother Michael, drafted 13th overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, is currently playing in Germany for the Wolfsburg Grizzly Adams while simultaneously completing his undergrad degree with York University. Younger sister Laura is a varsity athlete at the University of Western Ontario and a dean’s list student in the Sciences.Being a proud member of the Jewish faith, Adam makes it his responsibility to promote the Israel Ice Hockey Federation and any other Jewish hockey organization.
