The American Academy of Physician Assistants
- The American Academy of Physician Assistants
The American Academy of Physician Assistants is the only national organization that represents physician assistants in their professional realm. More specifically, The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant is the major accrediting commission recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the Association of Specialized and Professional Accreditors. The commission oversees programs of physician assistants as well as the growth of the profession through continuing education programs. These programs include a network of physician assistants world wide.
Accreditation
All programs accredited by the American Academy of Physician Assistants are combed through by a peer review board, to ensure the accreditation process is led by non-biased, knowledgeable professionals. The commission of accreditation works with the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Physicians, the American College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association, and the Physician Assistant Education Association to establish, maintain, and promote the field's quality of education.
