Ukrainian Cup 2008-09

The Ukrainian Cup 2008-09 is the 18th annual edition of Ukraine's
football knockout competition, currently known as the DATAGROUP - Football Ukraine Cup or Kubok of Ukraine.

The Cup begins with a Preliminary round where teams from the Druha Liha and Amateur Cup Champions participate.

In the Second Preliminary Round teams from Ukrainian First League are drawn into the competition and then in the Round of 32 teams from Ukrainian Premier League enter the competition.

Qualification into European Competitions for the 2009-2010 season

The winner of this competition enters as Ukraine's Cup Winner representative in the UEFA Cup competition entering the competiton in the 4th qualifying round.

The matches of the First Preliminary Round took place on July 16, 2008. At this stage in the competition, 25 teams from the Druha Liha and Ukrainian Amateur Cup winner enter the competition.

The draw for the Round of 16 (1/8 Finals) was taken September 24, 2008. The draw is random. The matches to be played from October 29, 2008 unless otherwise noted.

11 teams from the Premier League and five teams from the Persha Liha advanced into this stage of the competition.
