"The Fool and His Money" is a forthcoming puzzle game by Cliff Johnson. [cite web|title=Cliff's Edge: Yea, "The Fool and His Money" WIll Soon Part from Mr. Johnson|author=Greg Collins|publisher=justadventure.com|accessdate=2007-08-18|url=http://www.justadventure.com/Interviews/CliffJohnson/FoolMoney.shtm] It is a self-published sequel to the "Game of the Year" 1987 game "The Fool's Errand", but has experienced numerous delays. In 2006, Johnson admitted that "I never intended to re-write the game three times from scratch."

Originally announced in January 2003, the game had an expected release date of Halloween 2003. In September 2008, Johnson announced on the game's website that the game was undergoing final beta testing, but did not predict a release date. Previously announced release dates include:
* Halloween 2003
* April 1, 2004 (April Fool's Day)
* Halloween 2004
* July 5, 2005
* Late 2005
* April 1, 2006
* August 7, 2006
* December 4, 2006 (announced July 5, 2006)
* December, 2006 (announced mid-November, 2006)
* A few months from mid-January, 2007 (announced January 15, 2007) [cite web|url=http://www.thefoolandhismoney.com/|publisher=foolandhismoney.com|title=Cliff Johnson's website|accessdate=2007-01-15]
* April, 2007
* Late 2007 "a few months or so, then a thorough final beta test" (announced August 13, 2007) [cite web|url=http://www.thefoolsgold.com/newsletters/020/index.htm|publisher=foolandhismoney.com|title=Cliff Johnson's website|date|August 13, 2007|accessdate=2007-08-18]
* Summer 2008cite web|url=http://www.thefoolsgold.com/newsletters/020/index.htm|publisher=foolandhismoney.com|title=The Fools Gold|date|April 26, 2008|accessdate=2008-04-26] (Johnson's April 2008 newsletter did not include a specific release date)
* September 2008 (announced April 28, 2008)

If/when released, the game will reportedly be available for Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh. The game is available for pre-order; pre-ordering promises to place the names of customers in a list of "Compendium of True Believers" within the game.
