This airline is not to be confused with Asia Pacific Airline which has its hub in Tabubil, Papua New Guinea.

The airline was established on 5 June 1998 and started operations on 3 June 1999. It was formed as Aero Micronesia , and is an affiliate company of the Tan Holdings Corporation.
