- Erwin Marquit
Erwin Marquit (1926-) was one of the most prominent American
Marxist philosophers and theorists of the late 20th century. He published books and journals including Nature and Society, included contributions from top Western and Eastern European,Soviet , Chinese, Vietnamese and Cuban contributors. Marquit studied Engineering in the City College, completing his education in physical sciences in Warsaw. Marquit was long-time leader of the anti-Stalinist current within theCommunist Party USA . In the early 1990s Marquit strongly opposed what he saw as undemocratic andStalinist tendencies byGus Hall . Marquit lead the Minnesota chapter of theCommittees of correspondence in revolt. Marquit later reconciled witht he party and now leads the supporters of Socialist Market Economy in China. Marquit has also combined his scientific studies in physics with his Marxist world-view to help develop theories ofDialectics of Nature . He is currently a physics professor at theUniversity of Minnesota , as well as a writer forPeople's Weekly World andPolitical Affairs .=External Links=
