The Maltese First Division 2008-09 season (known as BOV First Division 2008-09 for sponsorship reasons} will begin in October 2008 and will end in May 2009.The champions and the runners-up will be promoted to the Maltese Premier League, the highest tier of football in Malta, while the lowest two teams(finishing 9th and 10th) will be relegated to Maltese Second Division.These teams will contest the Maltese First Division 2008-09 season:
