There are two species: Dracoglossum plantagineum in Central America, the Lesser Antilles, Puerto Rico and sub-Andean South America, and Dracoglossum sinuatum in the Guianas and coastal Ecuador. The species differ in the presence or absence of indusiate sori. The species have creeping rhizomes and simple blades which proliferate at the apex.
