British Golf Museum

The British Golf Museum is located in the town of St Andrews in Fife, Scotland, which is the home of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews and is colloquially known as the "Home of Golf".

The museum's galleries explain the story of golf chronologically from the Middle Ages to the present day. It covers professional and amateur golf, and both the men's and women's game. The histories of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews and the rules of golf are also addressed. There is a wide range of historic golf equipment, documentation and art work, including items which belonged to celebrated golfers such as Jack Nicklaus, Seve Ballesteros, Nick Faldo and Laura Davies. As of 2005 work is underway on a new gallery where visitors will be able to try out putting with replicas of historical equipment.

The British Golf Museum is open to the public seven days a week throughout the year.
