Sahitya Akademi award for his outstanding poetic work “Kannada Sahitya Charitre” inKannada . He was the chairperson of the Kannada department ofBangalore University ,Bangalore .On July 15, 1906, Mugali was born in a village called Hole Alur of
Ron (city) ,Gadag . In the year 1933, he was appointed as Kannadaprofessor at Wilington college,Sangli . His notable studensts from Willington college wereSubbanna Ekkundi andGangadhar V. Chittal .V. K. Gokak was his colleague there. In the year 1966, Mugali retired from Willington college as the principal of the college. From 1967-1970, he was the chiarperson of the department of Kannada of Bangalore university, Bangalore.Mugali’s poetic nickname was “Rasik Ranga”. He was the president of the 44th Kannada Sahitya Sammelan held in Siddganga of
Tumkur taluk. On February 20, 1992, Mugali died in Banglore.His work
