speed=The 75 mm Type 90 Field Gun was a gun used by the Japanese Army duringWorld War II . It was loosely based on the FrenchSchneider et Cie Canon de 85 mle 1927. It was intended to replace theType 38 75 mm Field Gun , but that never actually happened. There were two versions of the Type 90, one with wooden wheels suitable for animal draft, and another with solid rubber tires and a beefed-up suspension for motor towing. The latter weighed convert|200|kg|lb more. The Type 90 was unique among Japanese artillery pieces in that it had a
muzzle brake . It formed the basis for the 75mm Type 3 tank gun in theType 3 Chi-Nu tank .It fired
HE ,armor-piercing ,shrapnel , incendiary, smoke and illumination shells.External links
