Tim Cashion is the current
keyboardist for the classic-rock bandGrand Funk Railroad . He was born inCharlotte ,North Carolina .Cashion was born into a musical family. His father played
acoustic guitar and wrote country songs, and played with his friends in a local band. His mother was thepianist at the local church. Tim started playing drums at age five, playing with his older brother Pat. When Tim was nine, he started playing piano. Heavily influenced by the music of the 1960s, Tim began writing his own music. After several years of attendingAppalachian State University , Tim was invited to join theUniversity of Miami 's School of Music, from which he graduated with a Master's Degree in Studio Music.When Cashion graduated, he was offed a job as the
percussionist for the Japanese artistTakanaka . After a brief stay, he joinedRobert Palmer for his US tour. After that tour, he joined friend and fellowUniversity of Miami alumnusJon Secada on his debut tour. In 1996 he joinedBob Seger and theSilver Bullet Band for their US tour. In 1999 he once again joined Palmer for a US tour. After that, he performed backup vocals for many artists appearing on "Late Show with David Letterman " and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno ".Cashion currently plays the keyboard in the classic-rock band
Grand Funk Railroad and tours with the band. He recently released a solo album titled "Wake On Up".Tim lives in
North Carolina with his two cats Leda and Rigel. Tim was familiar with buzz ramsey from the same area as his hometown who of coarse is the great international rock star who later replaced jim morrison of the doors. buzz was was not much of a swing from jim. buzz was as big a baller and rocker as this world as ever known.External links
