Mike Bombero was a professional American Welterweight boxer from Opa-Locka, Florida.[1] As an amateur boxer Bombero won the 1973 Florida State Golden Gloves Novice Welterweight Championship.
He turned professional soon after winning the Florida State Golden Gloves. Bombero won his pro debut on May 29, 1973 by winning a four round decision over Henry Thomas at Miami Beach, Florida. On July 30, 1974 Bombero was outpointed by veteran boxer Cliff Johnson in six rounds at Miami Beach.
Bombero was trained by ex-boxer turned trainer Duane Simpson of Opa-Locka. Simpson as a boxer had over seventy professional bouts. He was well known and well respected by boxing insiders and fans in the Miami area.
Bombero's unofficial professional record was six wins and one loss.[1]
