Timothy R. Lannon

Timothy R. Lannon, S.J. is the current and 26th president of Saint Joseph's University. He has and continues to transform the SJU into a preeminent university. Lannon became the school's president in July of 2003.

Father Lannon has added new residence halls, a parking garage, a new campus in Lower Marion called the Maguire Campus, and he is behind the current renovation of the basketball team's Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.

He previously was vice president for university advancement and associate executive vice president at Marquette University. Fr. Lannon serves on the boards of Marquette, St. Joseph’s Preparatory School in Philadelphia, the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, and the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Pennsylvania.

Fr. Lannon has studied and written on Catholic identity at Jesuit universities. A native of Mason City, Iowa, he attended Creighton University as an undergraduate and was later president of Creighton Preparatory School.
