- Peadar Cowan
Peadar Cowan (23 October 1903 – 9 May 1962) was an Irish politician. An solicitor by profession, he first stood unsuccessfully for election in the 1937 general election as a Labour Party candidate for the Meath-Westmeath constituency. He also stood unsuccessfully in the 1938, 1943 and 1944 general elections in the same constituency.
He was first elected to
Dáil Éireann at the 1948 general election as aClann na Poblachta Teachta Dála (TD) for the Dublin North East constituency. He was re-elected at the 1951 general election as an Independent TD, but lost his seat at the 1954 general election. He stood again as an Independent candidate at the 1961 general election but was not elected.References
